Niacinamide
Niacinamide (vitamin B3) is the most versatile active in a routine: it helps regulate sebum, refine the look of pores, strengthen the barrier and calm redness. At 2 to 5 % it already shows; above 10 % it adds nothing and can irritate reactive skin. It layers with almost everything, retinoids and acids included, which is why it's usually the second active we recommend when someone starts a routine. For combination or oily skin with shine and visible pores it's a sensible starting point; for sensitive skin, a way to build tolerance before stronger actives.

How to use it
- Morning and night, before moisturiser.
- If high concentrations flush your skin, drop to 5 %.
- A good partner for retinol to reduce irritation.
