Vitamin C
Vitamin C is the reference morning antioxidant: it helps protect skin from the oxidative stress of light and pollution, adds radiance and, with continued use, helps even out tone. The most studied form is L-ascorbic acid, which needs a low pH and can sting on sensitive skin; derivatives (ascorbyl glucoside, ethyl ascorbic acid, THD ascorbate) are more stable and gentler at the cost of a slower action. Apply on clean skin, before moisturiser and sunscreen, and keep the bottle away from light so it doesn't oxidise.

How to use it
- In the morning, always under sunscreen.
- If your serum turns dark orange it has oxidised: replace it.
- Sensitive skin: start with a derivative rather than pure L-ascorbic acid.
- Pairs well with ferulic acid and vitamin E.
